Transport Scotland has confirmed that it will continue to fund the public service obligation flights connecting Wick John O’Groats Airport to Aberdeen.

This follows two years of sustained passenger growth on the route and an updated business case submitted by local stakeholders including Focus North.

Both local businesses and new industry developers in the area have repeatedly highlighted the importance of air links to their operation, and the service has also proved popular with leisure passengers.

Focus North would like to thank Highland Council and the Scottish Government for their continued support for this lifeline service to the area. It represents an investment in the future of the north Highlands and will help us to maximise the potential of our region, driving growth, innovation and prosperity.

It’s also a powerful endorsement of the value of partnership working, and we are proud to be part of that effort.
